Monthly Plan With Me - June 2021 🌻

Hey loves, it's Shannon of Ana Olivette. It’s that time of the month again when I sit down and reflect on the month before and plan for the month ahead. This new concept of organization helped me to stay on track with my goals and helped me to see areas I want to work on. Today we're going to reflect on May and then plan June. Here are some prompts so you can plan with me and then later on I'll share some responses to the prompts. So, let’s get started:

Lets Reflect on May!

  1. Described May in one word.

  2. Rate from 1 to 10. How much do you agree with the statement, “This month I took steps to get closer to my goals and authentic life”?

  3. List your highlights from the month.

  4. What is one thing you have learned?

  5. What is one thing you are proud of?

  6. How can you improve for next month?

  7. Bonus question: What is your idea of peace? How can you work towards adding more peace in your life?

Let's Plan for June!

  1. First set your intention for June. June will be….

  2. What are your top three goals for June?

  3. What are your mini goals?

  4. Make a weekly breakdown of goals.

  5. Input into your calendar so that you see it and get it done! 😊

Described May in one word:

My monthly review for May in one word would be ACCLIMATION. I feel like I made a lot of progress in adapting to the many changes that my life and schedule undertook in the month of May. After launching my Etsy shop, I received over 30 orders which sounds small, but it felt like an enormous amount for a newbie. I am SO very thankful for all the success that my shop made in MONTH 1. Each and every individual order was especially made by me. They all meant so much to me. Maybe it's because my company Ana Olivette is new, every achievement feels exhilarating. My husband Ray, family and friends have been so supportive of my new ventures which has been motivating to me. It helps me follow my passion of spreading awareness of mental health. I am not normally a person who likes taking risks but I’m malleable and the new me is in love with reinventing myself and that requires risk taking. So, there will be lots of changes coming in the next year.

In May William began Soccer. It has been fun watching him learn the game, gain confidence and make friends. It has also been a good way to get the family out of the house on Saturdays at an early time to be in nature and to be physically active. What else can you ask for!

I went back to work and created bonds with my students. I am super happy and blessed to be able to work with my kids for a little bit during this school year so that next year we are in for a good start. At first the transition was pretty rough, but it’s come together rather nicely. My commute is an hour of relation and all of my audio books.

I’ve been doing a lot of tidying up and laundry with all of the multiple activities we are doing in a given day. Overall Spring is wonderful with lots of positive changes.

Rate from 1 to 10. How much do you agree with the statement, “This month I took steps to get closer to my goals and authentic life”?

I rate this month as a seven because I was spread pretty thin in the month of May. This made it harder to feel like there was a lot of progress but standing back and looking at it of course there has been plenty of growth towards my authentic life. I added some jewelry pieces to my shop and some wine tumblers which are super cute. This summer is going to be a perfect time to work on my business and continue to work on myself. I signed up for a 50- mile challenge to raise money for Alzheimer's research. My grandmother Olivette suffered with Alzheimer's and it was very heartbreaking losing her little by little like that so alongside that and my Lynch syndrome diagnosis I will be doing this yearly. I have to keep this lovely body of mine healthy!

List your highlights from the month:

Some highlights for this month are that I signed up for a 50 mile challenge to raise money for Alzheimer's research to honor my grandmother Olivette. So far I have walked five miles and have been able to lose five pounds. My company reached 30 sales in my Etsy shop in month one. William’s soccer season was underway and a lot of new social skills were thankfully learned. My husband and I worked towards getting William used to socializing again. I returned to teaching in person and was able to build relationships with my first graders for next year and to be able to work alongside my team. I've also loved returning back to my commute because it gives me time to be alone and listen to podcasts, scripture, or any content that I'd like to learn about. I am currently learning about my relationship to food and about how to develop more content for my blog (smile).

Another highlight was, I began a new plan to help me learn to make better eating choices through a company called Optavia (www.optavia.com). The plan helps you to learn about food and your habits of eating so that you can live a healthier life. I have an awesome coach and community that is supportive and motivating me to make changes in my life. Due to my Lynch Syndrome diagnosis last year, I decided to take this new step with Optavia to make sure I show myself and my body some love. However, I have had some issues with the program particularly the food. The food is the main component in starting the program but I've bypassed it and began eating healthy and reading the books to learn about better ways of eating and living. Like I said earlier, I have been able to lose five pounds and have begun to walk daily towards my 50 mile goal.

Lastly, I was able to spend time with my husband and children. Ray and I planned, planned planned for the month of June with all of its upcoming festivities.

What is one thing you have learned?

One thing I learned in May is that I have a hard time following through when it comes to doing exercise. This is an area I have always had a difficult time with devoting my attention. Also, my relationship with food is not a very healthy one and needs to be adjusted. Work life balance is important but its critical when you are running a business, work full time and you’re a mom.

What is one thing you are proud of?

One thing I am proud of for the month of May is my resiliency to continue to strive for growth in my life. I have a lot to be proud of. Especially my continued desire to renew my mind and live my best life. I've been working on being authentic self. I'm proud that I stayed up numerous nights working on my business and when it got tough, I didn’t give up. Also more importantly is my drive to educate myself about C-PTSD (Complex Post Traumatic Disorder), how to heal from it and how to help others. I have this driving passion to heal myself finally of this horrible disorder and to help as many people as I can. It is the driving force behind Ana Olivette, my blog, my Etsy shop and my journey with Optavia (www.Optavia.com).

How can you improve for next month?

I can improve this month by planning out my months and reflecting on the past month. This new exercise is going to help me see areas where I need to grow and areas where I am excelling.

Bonus question: What is your idea of peace? How can you work towards adding more peace in your life?

My idea of peace is feeling close to God. When I am in the word I feel an overwhelming sense of peace that comes over me. To add more peace in my life I can continue to read the word daily at a set aside time. I can also use that time to journal my fears and resentments. 😊

Now Let's Plan June!

First set your intention for June:

June will be a celebratory month for me and my family. It all starts off with my dog Pongo's 6th birthday and Andrews high school prom. Then Andrew is graduating high school, William is turning five years old and a week later Julian's reaches his 20th birthday. Lastly will be Fathers Day to celebrate my husband Ray and fathers. Okay maybe the words should be more like exhausted but I am super happy and blessed to have so many loved ones to celebrate.

What are your top three goals for June?

My top three goals are to close out my year at work with my students, families and my team, to celebrate my family and to also begin my 50 mile challenge to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer's.

What are your mini goals?

My mini goals are to create more content for my blog, drink more water throughout my day and to get on a better sleep routine.

Let me know your thoughts on this new monthly planning process and if it helps you.

What are your top three goals for June?

I look forward to hearing your responses. Until next time continue to shine your light bright! Live your best life. Be your authentic self.
